Hello Inspiration? Where are you?

Dear reader, I am almost sure that you have had a feeling when you are sitting down for too long to make your own artwork, but you felt hard to find inspiration for art. Finally, you find time to head to your workspace, and after that horrible feeling hits, that nothing motivates you to create. Finding inspiration seems more difficult than crossing the Indian ocean.

We all know the phrase - Inspiration is everywhere! Just take a look around! But ... it's that easy?

We would like to share with you 5 ways to get past those worries and jump into new creativity!

Step #1 - Look through art books and magazines

Many creators have said that sometimes they get the best ideas from books. So, let art books, photography books, architecture books, and magazines, spur you into creative action!

Tip #2 - Look at a lot of art

The best way to get inspiration is to look at other art! Go to visit museums, art and photography galleries, collect social media feeds with artists. Fill up your home bookshelves with art books. Take the time to study pieces and notice what about them inspires you.

"It's not a museum. It's not a place of artifacts; it's a place of ideas." – Jeanie Kahnke

Tip #3 - Create a mood board collage of art image

Go through magazines and cut out anything that you love. Don’t ask questions, just whatever images jump out at you, cut out, and glue in your sketchbook. After collecting the images what do you notice? Similar colors? Similar subjects? This is a great exercise to figure out what truly speaks to you and also will point you in the direction where your art might want and need to go. It's a good exercise for your creativity.

Tip #4 - Look at the old masters

If you feel totally lost on what to do, take a break and go to look at some of your favorite paintings. Look at those artists' paintings and analyze why you like them the most. Figure out a way to make it your own.

Tip #5 - Keep your spirit up

Sometimes you can increase your creativity by adding a little fun. You’ll feel happier and you might even look forward to doing the task when it’s regularly paired with something nice.
For example:
  • Listen to music while you run.

  • Light a candle while you’re sketching, making a mood board, or preparing a place for painting.

  • Clean up tour working place.

  • Bring a bunch of flowers to your place.

  • Go for a date with yourself.

  • Go to enjoy a classical music concert.

Sum up:

We do believe that those tips were helpful for you to find ideas for your personal artwork.
As Pablo Picasso said: "Inspiration does exist but it must find you working,” That is true. It could be a long wait if you are sitting and waiting for the perfect idea to hit you. The act of creating in itself is where ideas are born.
